Francis is a data scientist and technologist with more than 20 years of experience developing state-of-the-art technologies and methods to derive evidence from big data, enabling precise and intentional action to be taken.  

With the myriad recent developments in AI, Francis is interested in pushing the boundaries of what's possible. He sees the solution space in his domains of expertise (finance, data science, healthcare, epidemiology, cloud computing) exploding with possibility.

Francis is actively merging new AI capabilities within his existing spheres of influence to make what was previously impossible practical and solutionable. For example, the data problems in healthcare, the things we were unable to understand without the use of AI, are now understandable and can be acted upon in new ways. Developments in computing design, machine learning, training, collecting and running of new computing models creates an exponential new set of possibilities. 

An amalgamation of expertise enables Francis to spend his time thinking about, coding, and contributing to the computing space where it is germane to solving real business problems. He sees the state of possibilities for creating new business models and new AI computing paradigms akin to creating step function evolutionary advancement.

Before delving deeply into the AI space, Francis was most recently VP of Platform for Health Verity, and was the Founder & CTO of Curisium which was acquired by Health Verity. Prior to Health Verity, he was VP of Data Science at Aetion, Inc. Francis was also Head of Quantitative Research at Roc Capital, a quantitative equity trading firm with over US$1B in AUM, and a VP at Deutsche Bank serving as a quantitative analyst on a proprietary trading desk. 

Francis holds two bachelor's degrees; one in Physics and another in Theoretical Mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
